STOP #003

Waiheke Island

The Island Between Home and the Open Sea

Hauraki Gulf · North Island

Planned for 2028

Expedition coin #003 · Planned

Our journey begins to leave Auckland behind. From Waiheke, we start turning east — towards the Coromandel and the long journey around Aotearoa. But Waiheke is more than beaches and vineyards. Beneath the modern island are stories of Māori voyaging, ancient settlements, coastal defence, hidden places and a coastline shaped by the sea. We’ll come back in 2028 to discover what lies beyond the postcard.
